RAINBOW DAY CARE CENTRE

Our Story

Rainbow Day Care Centre was started on the 2nd of October in 2015 with an intention to provide senior citizens a safe space with meaningful engagements, quality time, and a stress-free atmosphere during the day. The thought was that the idea of starting a daycare centre is better than starting an old age home because in this kind of setup senior citizens will get the best of both worlds i.e. their family as well as the same age group to engage with.

Since it was going to be a daycare centre the first factor to be looked at was to be able to provide the pick-up and drop facility within a radius of 5 km. Accordingly, a space was found that is easily reachable plus has a hospital nearby, can accommodate up to 30 elderlies with provisions like good space for group activities, kitchen, and dining facility, and space for them to take rest or a nap whenever they require. At the same time trained faculty and staff to manage the elderlies and the centre. We also considered physically independent senior citizens for this kind of set-up.

Our Objective

To provide daycare facility to the elderly which can be a golden means of home and old-age home

  • To provide a mentally stimulating environment
  • To provide them with the group and individual counseling to improve their emotional and mental health
  • To enhance their quality of life

NIRAMAY DE-ADDICTION CENTRE

About

Niramay means healthy. Niramay De-addiction Center, a project by Center for Action Research and Education, offers a scientifically designed residential treatment program for practicing addicts with an intent to provide them a holistic healthy path to recovery.

It is seen that there is an increase in substance addiction and addiction-related problems in society. Many de-addiction/rehabilitation centers and alcoholics anonymous groups are working constantly on this problem.

WHO has announced that addiction is the third-ranking killer disease. This disease affects not only the addicts but also the family and the society around him. Niramay’s scientifically designed treatment program was created considering the extent of this problem. The guidance provided is by well-trained and thoroughly professional counselors who are experts in this field with substantial experience under their belts.

The key factors in maintaining sobriety are:
• Changes in Personality and Attitude
• Understanding the significance of responsibility and responsible behavior
• Learning social skills to fit into mainstream society.

This two-month program includes inputs on psychological and emotional aspects along with social skills and various other therapies and sharing sessions spread out over the two months.
Interactive sessions are the highlight of this program. Individual and family counseling is an important aspect of Niramay’s treatment program.
Through this novel program, we seek to achieve elegant recovery and consistency in maintaining sobriety of practicing and further recovering addicts. The organizers believe this will be beneficial to their families as well.

The Problem

With the rising number of chemically afflicted population with each passing year we find an in-appropriate ratio of people suffering from this disease and number of centres that offer professional and scientific treatment program.

    The Solution

Thus, to address this dearth we are intending to start a scientifically designed structured program for the addicts and alcoholics in our society which will be run by a team of trained professionals. Our core team comes with a collective experience of about sixty years in the field of drug and alcohol de-addiction. Just staying away from addiction is not sufficient. Learning that it is a disease, accepting it and then working on self are the steps towards recovery.

    The Objectives

    • To have a scientifically designed structured professional program for addicts and alcoholics
    • To educate them about addiction as a disease and how it is affecting all the aspects of their life
    • To guide them through the path of recovery
    • To provide them with a scientifically designed de-addiction program comprising of inputs on psychological and emotional aspects along with social skills to strengthen their recovery

      VILLAGE PROGRAM

Our Village Program started in 2016 at Lavale, a village near Pune. Till 2019 we ran OPD for the elderly and women, conducted almost six health check-up camps on different health issues, and in 2019 we planned to shift our work to Kondhanpur near Khedshivapur, Pune as this village seemed more disadvantaged. Due to COVID situations, we couldn’t go further and now we plan to resume this activity in June or July.

      MIND GYM

CFARE started Mind gym activity in 2017.

This concept came to mind when we started dealing with dementia patients.

Mental health is very important and the mind should be kept active. Keeping this in mind, we started Mind Gym.

Initially, we had restricted this activity for people in the 50+ age group but due to the demand of people, we have now opened this to all.

Different art forms are used and participation is mandatory. In 2020 we conducted online sessions due to COVID, otherwise, we had been conducting these sessions at Chhatre Sabhagruha.

      MAIN OBJECTIVE

      1. To provide various challenges to the brain, through varied art forms
      2. To keep the brain active
